Physical Therapist
2023-2024 School Year

Seeking FTE .5 Physical Therapist.  The local community has much to offer and strongly supports the education system.  

Assigned to rural

  • Position Needed: Physical Therapy 

  • The position must be able to work with minimal supervision, work efficiently, and in an organized manner. It is an itinerant position that requires meeting the needs of students in more than one location.

Services to be provided will include, but not limited to:

  1. Availability and participation upon request in the pre-referral process using procedure established by the FSEC. 

  2. In compliance with the rules governing IDEA evaluate children referred for gross motor needs to determine if the child is eligible under the criteria set forth in IDEA and all applicable State laws. 

  3. Upon request and availability, attend Evaluation Report and IEP meetings for students eligible or being determined eligible for services under IDEA for fine motor needs, 

  4. Provide a written report of the evaluation results with recommendations for school and home interventions the student needs in order to benefit for his/her education program because of fine motor implications.  This report is the property of the school district and applicable to all laws pertaining to student records including law and policies governing release and transfer of student records. 

  5. In consultation with the school district IEP team, develop an intervention plan in the area of occupation therapy to address the child’s gross motor needs. 

  6. Provide training of assigned individuals and teaching staff in incorporating the motor activities in the child’s school routine.  These activities will be monitored, reviewed, and re-evaluated on a regular basis and changed as appropriate, based on the needs of the child. 

  7. Provide reports documenting the student’s progress on IEP goals and objectives to be filed with the student’s current IEP document at the end of each grading period and with Medicaid billing if the student is Medicaid eligible. 

  8. Complete Medicaid billing forms for Medicaid eligible students. 

 

Must be responsible for maintaining own professional liability insurance, worker’s compensation insurance or exemption, and all other similar employee insurance coverage tax deductions, current Montana Driver’s License.

 

SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGIST

2023-2024 School Year

FLATHEAD SPECIAL EDUCATION COOPERATIVE

JOB GOALS:

The Flathead Special Education Cooperative is seeking a full-time licensed school psychologist to provide psycho-educational assessments of students referred to special education. These assessments will include evaluation information needed for the identification and placement of students in special education in compliance with state special education rules and regulations.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide a comprehensive psychological evaluation for each student referred to special education in compliance with state regulation.

Compile evaluation findings in a written report to include the student ability level and recommendations for home and school. A copy of the report will be put in the child’s permanent special education record by the psychologist at the resident district. The psychologist may keep a working report on file for each child evaluated.

Facilitate Evaluation Team meetings and participate in IEP meetings when appropriate.

Serve as a consultant to classroom teachers regarding referred or identified student’s classroom needs.

Provide special education teachers with technical assistance regarding evaluation criteria in compliance with state regulations for each category of eligibility.

Assist with Child Find, evaluating preschool age children with screenings in the cognitive domain and other developmental areas.

As needed, provide behavior management intervention as determined by the IEP team.

Assist with staff development and in-service programs as required by the Special Education Director.

Serve in other professional capacities as directed by the Flathead Special Education Director

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree or advanced degree from and accredited college or university

  • School Psychologist Credential

  • Experience with students grades K-12

SALARY: Depending on Experience
